Mark’s paternal great-grandmother was evidently Orene/Irene Frances Stein (the daughter of Adolphe/Adolph Jacob Stein and Mary Aufdemorte).
Mark’s maternal grandparents were John Anthony Ernst, Jr. (the son of John Anthony Ernst and Leontine Pauline Bordes) and Cathryn Mae Gallo (the daughter of Salvadore George Gallo and Theresa M. Corceller). John was of German and Swiss-German descent. Leontine’s parents were French. Salvadore was of Italian descent.
