Her father was one of eight children in a religious Catholic family.
On her mother’s side, Lorde is the granddaughter of George Branko Yelich (the son of Branko Yelich and Radmila Anrath) and Leilani Carol. Branko was Croatian. Radmila was born in Vukovar, Općina Vukovar, Vukovar-Syrmia County, Croatia, to Dragutin “Karl” Anrath and Wilhelmina “Vilma”.
