George Clayton Johnson was an American science fiction writer. He was known for co-writing the novel Logan’s Run, as well as the television scripts for The Twilight Zone, and the first telecast episode of Star Trek, entitled “The Man Trap”. He also wrote the story on which the 1960 and 2001 films Ocean’s Eleven were based.

George was the son of Charles Edward Johnson and Laura Mae (Duke) Duncan. He was married to Lola Brownstein.

George’s paternal grandfather was Samuel Rucker Johnson (the son of Robert A. Johnson and Elizabeth Wiles). Robert was the son of Nicholas “Nick” Johnson and Sarah. Elizabeth was the daughter of Jacob Wiley and Courtney.

George’s paternal grandmother was Mollie Spangler (the daughter of George W. Spangler and Mary M.).

George’s maternal grandfather was George Cherry Duke (the son of James Madison Duke and Margaret A. Darby). James was the son of John Taylor Duke and Dicey Jones. Margaret was the daughter of Elisha Gore Darby and Sarah Jane Atkins.

George’s maternal grandmother was Lovie Rosetta Williams (the daughter of Adanorm Preston Williams and Mary Elizabeth Collins). Adanorm was the son of Adonijah Williams and Elizabeth Jane Hayes. Mary was the daughter of Samuel S. Collins and Mary Ann Samantha Moultrie.
