Kristján Eldjárn was an Icelandic politician, who served as the third President of Iceland from 1 August 1968 to 1 August 1980. He was the son of Þórarinn Kristjánsson Eldjárn and Sigrún Sigurhjartardóttir. He was married to Halldóra Ingólfsdóttir.
