Piet de Jong was a Dutch politician, who served as Prime Minister of the Netherlands, from 5 April 1967 to 6 July 1971. His father, Joännes Jans de Jong, was from Midlum, Harlingen, Friesland. His mother, Gijsberta Adriana Schouten, was a native of Trigt, Buurmalsen, Gelderland. He was married to Anna Geertruida Jacoba Henriëtte “Anneke” Bartels.
