Mike Krzyzewski is an American basketball coach and player. He coaches in college basketball and at the national level.
Mike is the son of Polish American, Catholic, parents Emily Mildred (Pituch) and William Krzyzewski. The family name was originally “Krzyżewski”, and is said to have its origins in Krzyżewo, Podlaskie Voivodeship or Krzyżewo, Braniewo County, or Krzyżewo, Ełk County.
Mike’s paternal grandparents were John Krzyzowski/Krzyzewski (the son of Wojciech Krzyzowski) and Sophie Sowizdrzal.
Mike’s maternal grandfather was Josef Pituch.
