Jack Antonoff is an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He is the lead singer of the indie band Bleachers and the lead guitarist of the indie band Fun. (which also includes Nate Ruess). He was previously the lead singer of the indie band Steel Train.
Jack is the son of Shira L. (Wall) and Richard L. “Rick” Antonoff. His sister is fashion designer Rachel Antonoff.
Jack’s paternal grandparents are Jack Antonoff (the son of Hinda Antonoff) and Ann. Jack’s great-grandfather Antonoff was the son of Isidore Antonovsky/Antonoff. Hinda was the daughter of Shaya Antonoff and Sarah Rosenfeld.
Jack’s maternal grandparents were Max/Meir B. Wall (the son of Leibel/Louis Wall and Gittel/Gertrude Hindich) and Miriam “Mimi” Helen Peyser. Max, who was a Rabbi, was born in Poland. Leibel was born in Pinsk, Belarus, the son of Meyer Wohl and Freide Bacalchick. Gittel was the daughter of Shalom Hindich and Sheindel Heller.
