Alfred Deakin was an Australian politician. He served as Prime Minister of Australia, from 24 September, 1903 to 27 April, 1904, again from 5 July, 1905 to 13 November, 1908, and once again from 2 June, 1909 to 29 April, 1910.
Prime Minister Deakin was the son of Sarah (Bill) and William Deakin. His mother was born in Wales, of English and Welsh ancestry, and his father was English, from Towcester, Northamptonshire, England.
Prime Minister Deakin’s paternal grandparents were John Deakin (the son of William Deakin and Mary Howcroft) and Catherine Cross.
