John B. Anderson is an American politician. As a Republican, he served as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois, from January 3, 1961 to January 3, 1981, and Chairman of the House Republican Conference, from January 3, 1969 to January 3, 1979.
John was an independent candidate for President of the United States in 1980. He was previously a candidate for the Republican Party’s nomination for President of the United States in 1980.
John is the son of Mabel Edna (Ring) and E. Albin Anderson. His father was Swedish. His mother was born in Illinois, to Swedish parents.
