Mike Schmidt is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and is considered by many the best third baseman of all time.
Mike is the son of Lois (Phillips) and Jack Schmidt (1926-2011).
Mike’s paternal grandparents were Cecil Schmidt and Dortha Viola Greider (the daughter of Benjamin Franklin/Frank Greider and Lena Margarite Anderson). Benjamin was of German descent, the son of Samuel E. Greider and Rebecca A. Heffner.
Mike’s maternal grandfather was John Phillips.
