On his mother’s side, Eric is the grandson of Curtis Jerome Donstad (the son of Joseph Andreas Donstad and Caroline Bailey) and Thelma Amelia Byom (the daughter of Albert Byom and Hannah Spierly). Despite her surname, “Bailey”, Caroline was also of Norwegian ancestry.
