Her maternal grandparents, Tillie and Jacob Tishler, were Russian Jews. Her paternal grandparents, Esther and Harry Stahl, were Polish Jews. They emigrated from Russia and Poland to Boston, Massachusetts, U.S, in 1911 and 1913, respectively.
Lesley is married to journalist and writer Aaron Latham. They have a daughter, Taylor.
