Kurtwood’s maternal grandparents were Johannes “John” Larson (the son of Lars J. Larson and Ingeborg Ormson) and Olahva Maline “Olive” Onsager (the daughter of Ole J. Onsager and Mary Nelson). Johannes and Olahva were both born in Wisconsin, to Norwegian parents.
