John Paul Stevens is an American lawyer and jurist. He has served as Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, from November 2, 1970 to December 19, 1975, and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, from December 17, 1975 to June 29, 2010.
Justice Stevens is the son of Elizabeth Maude (Street) and Ernest James Stevens.
Justice Stevens was married to Maryan Mulholland Simon, until her death. He has four children with his former wife, Elizabeth Jane Sheeren.
