Candice Bergen is an American actress. Her father, Edgar Bergen (born Edgar John Bergren), was a ventriloquist, comedian, and actor, and was of Swedish descent. Her mother was actress Frances Bergen (born Frances Westerman), who had German and English ancestry.
Candice’s paternal grandparents were Johan Henriksson Bergren (the son of Malte Henrick Berggren and Elsa Persdotter) and Nilla Svensdotter Osberg (the daughter of Sven Nilsson and Ingar Mansdotter).
Candice’s maternal grandparents were William A. Westerman (the son of Frank Westerman and Mary Wallin) and Lille Mabel Howell (the daughter of John C. Howell and Masurie Annie Rainey). Frank was German.
