Romola’s paternal grandparents were Oliver Frank Garai (the son of Bernhard “Bert” Garai and Alice Emily Rosa Pike) and Joan Gibson (the daughter of ? Gibson and ? Holmes). Bernhard was born in Budapest. Alice was English, the daughter of Edward Pike and Annie Maria Earwaker. Joan was also English.
