Blas Infante was an Andalusian Spanish politician, georgist, writer, historian and musicologist, known as the father of Andalusian nationalism.
Infante was among numerous political figures who were summarily executed by Francisco Franco‘s forces when they took Seville at the beginning of the Spanish Civil War.
Blas was born in Casares, Málaga, the son of Luis Miguel Infante Andrade, graduated in law and clerk of Casares’ courthouse, and of Ginesa Pérez de Vargas Romo.
Blas’ maternal grandfather Ignacio Pérez de Vargas Salas (the son of Juan Pérez de Vargas y González and Ginesa Salas Gil). Juan was the son of Miguel Pérez de Vargas.
