Igor and Grichka are the sons of the prince Youri Bogdanoff and Marie Dolorès Kolowrat Krakowska/Krakowsky. Youri was born in St Petersburg he is the son of Mikhail Bogdanoff and Anna Von Osten Sacken. The Von Osten Sacken is a family of the Baltic German nobility. The Bogdanoff family descends from a Tatar clan which was Russified in the 17th century.
Marie Dolorès is the illegitimate daughter of the African American musician and lyric tenor Roland Heyes and of the countess Bertha Kolowrat Krakowska/Krakowsky whom he met during a concert in Vienna, Austria. As Bertha was married she left her husband and fled to France alone.
Roland Heyes was from Curyville, Georgia, he is the son of William Hayes and Fanny Mann, Fanny was a former slave. His great-grandfather Aba Ougi was a chief in Ivory Coast and was sent as a slave to the United States in 1790.
Bertha was the daughter of Count Leopold Filip Kolowrat-Krakowska and his wife Nadine Von Huppman-Valbella. His maternal grandfather was Josef Huppmann-Valbella born in Olekso today in Ukraine and his maternal grandmother was Katharina Seeman born in St Petersburg. His paternal grandfather was Leopold Krakovský Kolovrat and his grandmother was Natalie Blaszezynska from Warsaw in Poland.
Leopold Krakovský Kolovrat was the son of count František Xaver Kolowrat-Krakowsky and his wife the countess Julie Kolowrat. His paternal grandfather was Leopold Vilém Kolovrat-Krakowský-Liebsteinsky who was the Czech Chancellor, his paternal grandmother was Maria Theresia Gräfin von Khevenhüller-Metsch, she came from a noble Austrian family.
