Marcy Kaptur is an American politician. She is a member of the Democratic party and has been representing Ohio’s 9th district in the U.S. House of Representatives since January 3, 1983. As of now, she is the longest-serving woman in the U.S. Congress. Previously, she has served as the director of planning for the National Center for Urban Ethnic Affairs from 1975 to 1977.
Marcy was born as Marcia Carolyn Kaptur on June 17, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio, U.S. to father Stephen Jacob “Steve” “Kappy” Kaptur and mother Anastasia Dolores Rogowski. Both of them were born in Toledo and were children of Polish immigrants.
