Ric Flair is an American professional wrestler. He is known for his work in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and WWE. His daughter Charlotte Flair, and sons David, and Reid also are/were professional wrestlers. He is married to Wendy Barlow who appeared in WCW as Fifi the French Maid.
Ric is the adopted son of Kathleen and Richard Fliehr who were both born in Minnesota. Kathleen was the daughter of Frederick Kinsmiller and Haedwig/Hattie Friske who both emigrated to the U.S. from Germany. Ric’s adoptive father, Richard, was the son of Anna Kaiser and William Fliehr. William was of German, Swiss-German, English, Dutch, and French descent. Anna was of German, English, Dutch, Scottish, and Welsh descent. Richard descends from settlers in Colonial America. Some of Richard’s German ancestors emigrated from Alsace, France.
According to Ric in his autobiography, his biological father was named Luther Phillips and his biological mother’s name was Olive. Her surname was either Phillips, Demaree, or Stewart. Ric’s birth name was Fred Phillips, Demaree, or Stewart. He was adopted from the Tennessee Children’s Home Society which was later revealed to be an illegal baby trafficking operation. Phillips is typically an English name. Demaree is typically a French name. Stewart is typically a Scottish name.
