Towa Tei is a Japanese DJ, music producer, and graphic designer. He was a member of the dance music group Deee-Lite which also included Lady Miss Kier and Super DJ Dmitry. Earlier in his career, he was affiliated with hip-hop group Jungle Brothers. He has also been credited as Jungle DJ Towa Towa and Sweet Robots Against the Machine.
Towa is a third-generation Zainichi Korean. He has said: “I used to say that I was Korean, but when I was in New York, I would tell journalists that I’m Japanese, because my cultural background is Japanese.”
