James B. Weaver was an American politician. As a member of the Greenback Party, he was a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Iowa, from March 4, 1879 to March 3, 1881, and again, from March 4, 1885 to March 3, 1889.
He was the Populist Party’s nominee for President of the United States in 1892.
James was the son of Susan and Abram Weaver. His great-grandson is actor Stephen Collins.
James’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Imlay (the daughter of John Emley/Imlay and Jane King). John was the son of John Imlay, whose father was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, with English heritage; and of Sarah Lawrence. Jane was the daughter of Joseph King and Mary Simcock.
James’s maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Robinson.
