Oklou’s maternal grandfather was Jean-Louis Bernard Marazano (the son of Georges Léon Louis Marazano and Charlotte Georgette Minna Pheulpin). Jean-Louis was born in Paris. His paternal grandmother, Pauline Théodora Haas, was born to German parents, from Brussels, Belgium. The surname Marazano was originally spelled Marasanov and originated from Oklou’s fifth great-grandfather Vacillé, who was born in Byaroza, Belarus.
