Mays’s infomercials were known for his catch phrase “Hi, Billy Mays here”, and his shouted delivery of lines.
Mays was the son of William Mays Sr and Joyce Palm (née Schofield). Palm was the daughter of Alma Margaret Schofield (née Panizzi). Alma’s father Michael Salvatore Panizzi was born in Noepoli, Potenza, Italy, while her mother Sophie Panizzi (née Kurtulik) was from what is now the Czech Republic.
