Phil Anselmo is an American musician. He is known as the former lead singer of the heavy metal band Pantera.
His surname, “Anselmo”, is Italian. Phil’s father, also named Phil, owned a restaurant in Metairie, Louisiana, called Anselmo’s, which closed in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Phil has stated that his maternal great-grandmother, Lola Hansen, was Danish. He is also described as having French ancestry.
